Ellie Mae is doing good. She has calmed down some, however, I can't wait until she is a year old. She is only 10 months old now. She is now in heat. I am keeping her inside most of the time with me or in her room in the basement. We are not going to breed her until her next cycle. She is going to be bred with the the stud next store. I am in hopes that she has a liter by spring.
Notice in this picture Ellie has taken over the chase. Smart dog!

Training has been fun and aggravating. I have learned A LOT about training and my next puppy will be easier to train. I didn't realize that when my husband would come home from work, we were not allowed to get excited when greeting him. There would be excitement in my voice when I would hear the truck coming down our road. I would let Ellie Mae know that Daddy was home and she would perk up with excitement too.
I am finding out that letting her jump with excitement is hard to change. She would jump when she would see me in the morning and I was afraid that I would be on the floor with one of her jumps. Therefore, I have been working hard on saying "OFF" when she attempts to jump.
She loves her rawhide and thank goodness for that. Now if I can just get the shoes and video tapes off the floor.
Ellie Mae is now old enough to go into heat. I do plan to breed her, however, it is best that she stay away from the male dog down the road this time. I have heard it is best to wait until she goes into heat the second time. I am sure this will be a lot of fun trying to keep her home. I do take her out on the lease, however, some times she is walking me. However, we are working very hard on that too.
I will keep you posted on more later.
